Dunc’s rich, full-bodied production serves as a natural backdrop to Toine’s technically astute rhymes, layered deep with smooth instrumentation evocative of such luminaries as J. Dilla, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Pete Rock, each of whom shaped the classic hip hop sounds of Dunc’s childhood. Toine’s energy and bright delivery belie wisdom beyond his years, inspiring deep reflection as easily as sharp battle fare and complex rhyme schemes. Maintaining a close working relationship with PG neighbor Oddisee and assuming a strong presence in the collective atmosphere of the DMV’s hip hop scene, DTMD appeared separately on MMG’s “Helpless Dreamer” compilation, Toine rhyming on “Different Now” and Dunc producing Stik Figa’s “From the Top.” “You” serves to whet appetites for their forthcoming MMG full-length “Makin’ Dollas.”

Knxwledge did it again. After KR∆PES & Mango, The philly beatmaker/producer released a new beat-tape over bandcamp. The tape is all about versatility & sweet samples. So, this is some solid stuff over there (as usual). Make sure to show some love and get yourself a copy.  

I don’t know what’s Buscrates 16-bit ensemble’s recipe, but once again, he decided to create a perfect nu-electro-soul atmosphere for the French singer Meemee Nelzy. The track is titled “Comme un lotus” from Meemee’s album Âme Nouvelle. Make sure to get that track while it’s free!
